Reverse description A long cross with triple-ribbed arms extends to the inner pearled border, dividing the reverse field into four quarters and interrupting the Latin legend. Each arm of the cross is flanked by leafy or foliate embellishments, lending a decorative Gothic character to the design. The legend is distributed in the four quadrants between the cross arms, contained within two concentric pearled circles. The overall composition is consistent with the convention coinage struck jointly by Luxembourg and Bar in the mid-fourteenth century, exhibiting the irregular planchet and flat relief typical of hammered silver issues.
