The shield is flanked by symmetrical baroque strapwork, and the overall heraldic composition fills the flan. The encircling Latin legend identifies the issuer as sixth Duke of Urbino, with each word separated by a decorative star-shaped stop. The entire design is contained within a beaded or rope border typical of hammered Italian piastre of this period. |
