| Beschrijving keerzijde | A frontal secular bust is depicted between three towers, each rendered schematically in the Romanesque manner. Above the central tower a star and a cross are placed, serving as heraldic or devotional devices. The composition is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with the design elements arranged symmetrically in the field. The style is consistent with early 13th-century hammered coinage of the Carinthian ecclesiastical mints. |

The Bishopric of Gurk, founded in 1072 by Archbishop Gebhard of Salzburg, held minting rights as a suffragen see under Salzburg — a jurisdictional arrangement that makes attributing these bracteate-style pfennigs to specific bishops genuinely difficult. The years 1200–1228 span the episcopates of Dietrich II and Ulrich II, and without die-linkage studies the issuing bishop remains unresolved.
