The Bishopric of Gurk, founded in 1072 by Archbishop Gebhard of Salzburg, held minting rights as a suffragen see under Salzburg — a jurisdictional arrangement that makes attributing these bracteate-style pfennigs to specific bishops genuinely difficult.
