The creature's wings are raised and its body is shown in profile with naturalistic detailing consistent with 13th-century Austrian coinage conventions. Pellets or dots are scattered in the surrounding inscription area in lieu of a formal legend, a typical feature of this pfennig type. The relief is shallow, as expected of hammered silver coinage of this period. |
