Reverse description The heraldic Styrian panther, here rendered as a winged lion passant facing left, occupies the central field of the irregularly shaped hammered flan. The creature's wings are raised and its body is shown in profile with naturalistic detailing consistent with 13th-century Austrian coinage conventions. Pellets or dots are scattered in the surrounding inscription area in lieu of a formal legend, a typical feature of this pfennig type. The relief is shallow, as expected of hammered silver coinage of this period.
