The figure is rendered in the bold, stylized relief characteristic of late 13th-century Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly scalloped at the periphery, typical of hammer-struck medieval Friesacher pfennig production. |

Rudolf and Meinhard II were not a natural pairing — Rudolf was Archbishop of Salzburg while Meinhard II held the County of Tyrol and Duchy of Carinthia, and the coins struck in their joint names reflect a carefully negotiated arrangement over mining revenues and mint rights in the Friesach region. Friesach itself had been one of the most important minting centers in the eastern Alpine lands since the 12th century, with its pfennigs circulating across a remarkably wide area into the Balkans.
The CNA Ca57 designation places this within a well-documented sequence, though attributing individual pieces to specific years within the 1286–1320 window remains difficult without die study.
