| Beschrijving keerzijde | A central fine cross occupies the field, with four smaller crosses arranged in each quadrant formed by the arms of the main cross, creating a cross-and-crosslets pattern typical of medieval Austrian bracteate-related coinage. The design is geometric and symmetrical, executed in the hammered technique with characteristic irregularity. A partial Latin legend is inscribed in the outer field between two concentric circular border lines, reading + [---]TIARA, likely referencing the mint or issuing authority. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Bernard of Carniola served as Duke of Carinthia from 1202 until his death in 1256, one of the longer tenures among the Sponheim dynasty's final generation of rulers in the region. This pfennig type belongs to the so-called Tschatesch coinage — a regional bracteate-adjacent friesacher tradition named after a minting center in the southern Alpine territories — issued at a moment when the Friesacher Pfennig system still dominated trade across the southeastern march lands.
The CNA Cp2 designation places it among the earliest attributable issues of Bernard's reign.
