Obverse description Draped and crowned bust of Antoine I, Prince of Monaco, facing right, wearing a laurel crown and long curled wig characteristic of the early eighteenth-century French Baroque style. The effigy is rendered in moderate relief with fine drapery detail at the truncation. The circular Latin legend reads ANT. I D.G. PRIN. MONOECI., identifying the ruler as Antoine I by the Grace of God Prince of Monaco. The inner border is formed by a ring of beads, and the coin exhibits the slightly irregular flan typical of billon coinage of this period.
