Reverse description A bold Gothic cross pattée with a central lozenge or quatrefoil ornament at the intersection, dividing the field into four quarters, each plain. The cross arms terminate at a beaded inner circle, beyond which the peripheral legend in Gothic uncial characters proclaims the coin as a new issue of the Bishopric of Liège. The overall composition is characteristic of late medieval ecclesiastical coinage of the Low Countries.
