The cross moline displays splayed and curved terminals characteristic of Viking-Age Anglo-Scandinavian coinage. A circular outer legend surrounds the central device, reading the ruler's name in separated dot-punctuated Latin lettering. The hammered flan is slightly irregular in shape, typical of tenth-century Viking York production.
