Obverse description The obverse of this holed trial piece features no royal effigy, serving instead as a pure legend trial. A decorative crown is prominently displayed at the top of the field, above the central hole. The Latin legend GEORGIVS V REX ET IND: IMP: arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination ONE TENTH OF A PENNY is inscribed on a curved ribbon across the centre field. Below the hole, the Arabic denomination عشر البني appears in a bold, flowing script, with the Kings Norton mint mark KN visible in the lower centre field just above the Arabic lettering.
