The effigy occupies the central field with minimal drapery indicated at the shoulder. A Latin legend reading + BΛLDRED REX encircles the bust, identifying the ruler by name and title. The lettering is set within the outer border in the typical insular epigraphic style of the period. |

The central motif exhibits the characteristic flared and curved terminals of the cross moline type. Surrounding the inner circle, the moneyer's name legend + EDELmOD mOИ-TΛ is distributed around the field, identifying the issuing moneyer. The overall composition is well-centered for a hammered issue and consistent with Rochester mint production of the period. |
