The moneyer's name and mint signature are arranged around the periphery in two abbreviated segments separated by crosses or pellets, following the standard Anglo-Saxon two-line formula. The lettering is executed in the angular, somewhat compressed style typical of the Last Small Cross issue struck in the final years of Æthelred II's reign. |
