| Obverse description | Central field depicts the heraldic shield of Bishop Benoît de Montferrand, bearing the arms of Montferrand, surmounted by a half-length figure of the Madonna holding the Christ Child, rendered in a Gothic devotional style. The Virgin appears enthroned or elevated above the escutcheon, with both figures shown in frontal presentation.
