| Reverse description | Central field bearing a large pattée cross with splayed arms, similar in style to the obverse, consistent with the double-cross type common to French feudal deniers and obols of this period. The surrounding circular Latin legend reads COM TORNODOI, identifying the issuer as countess of Tonnerre. The lettering is coarsely struck with irregular spacing, typical of hammered billon issues of the late 13th century. The die workmanship reflects provincial feudal mint production rather than royal standards. |
