| Obverse description | Bare head of a young male effigy facing left, rendered in a compact, stylized Thraco-Greek artistic tradition with flowing hair swept back behind the ear. The portrait is set within a prominent dotted (pearled) border that encircles the entire field, a characteristic decorative feature of Odrysian coinage of this period. The modelling of the facial features is bold and high-relief relative to the small module of the flan. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse. |

| Reverse description | A skyphos (a deep Greek drinking cup with two lateral loop handles) depicted frontally and in high relief, centred in the field. The vessel's body tapers toward a short foot at the base, with the two characteristic rounded handles projecting symmetrically to either side. Above the skyphos, the Greek legend KOTYOΣ is inscribed in archaic Greek capitals, identifying the issuing authority as King Kotys I of the Odrysian kingdom. The design is enclosed within a plain incuse square formed by the hammered die. |
