| 表面の説明 | Carolingian royal monogram (Karolus cipher) occupying the entire field, formed by the interlaced letters K, R, L, and S in high relief against a flat ground. A plain cross is incorporated within the body of the monogram, dividing the design into four quadrants. The monogram is rendered in the characteristic Carolingian epigraphic style with bold, angular strokes. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with hand-hammered production of the period. No border or legend is present on this face. |
