A circular legend in uncial Latin script surrounds the central device, reading BOCARD COMES, identifying the issuing count Bouchard V of Vendôme. The flan is irregular and slightly broader on one side, as expected of hammered medieval small coinage. The overall strike is uneven, with some areas of weakness at the periphery. |
