Obverse description Bearded head of Herakles in right profile, clad in the Nemean lion skin, the scalp of the lion's muzzle visible above the hero's forehead. The portrait is rendered in an archaic Thessalian style characteristic of the early fourth century BC, with bold, slightly rough surface treatment typical of hammered small silver coinage. The field is plain and unlettered.
