Additional information

Kamiros was one of the three principal cities of Rhodes before the synoikismos of 408 BC unified them under the new city of Rhodes, effectively ending Kamiros as an independent issuing authority. Coinage from this period reflects the city's own commercial identity — short-lived in the numismatic record precisely because that political consolidation was so complete.

The SNG von Aulock 2781 reference places this piece within a well-documented but thinly represented series. Specimens of this denomination from Kamiros appear infrequently on the market compared to larger denominations from the Rhodian region.
