Obverse description Facing head of Athena rendered in archaic style, wearing a Boeotian helmet with raised cheek-guards and a prominent crest, presented frontally within a shallow incuse field. The helmet's bowl dominates the central design, with the cheek-pieces flanking the goddess's face on either side. The flan is slightly irregular, characteristic of hand-struck Boeotian small silver coinage of the early fourth century BC. The relief is bold and compact given the small module, with the design filling the available field. No legend appears on this side.
