背面描述	A periapton — a bulbous, amphora-shaped amulet or suspension vessel — depicted facing, with a narrow neck, broad rounded body, and a small ring or knob at the base for suspension, centered within the field of the flan. Fragmentary Greek letters of the civic legend AΣΤΑ are partially visible to the right and lower right of the device, identifying the issuing city of Astakos. The type is characteristic of the small silver coinage of Akarnanian Astakos and reflects the use of apotropaic religious iconography on civic issues.

附加信息	Astakos was a small Acarnanian city on the Ionian coast whose independent coinage output was modest by any measure — the polis was destroyed and its population forcibly relocated to the newly founded Agrinium by Cassander around 314 BC, which imposed a hard terminus on the entire civic coinage series. This obol represents the tail end of that output.
