| Obverse description | Facing radiate head of Helios, rendered in archaic Greek style, with broad facial features and prominent rays emanating symmetrically around the head in the manner characteristic of the solar deity. The eyes are rendered frontally with a naturalistic expression, and the hair is arranged beneath the radiating crown. The flan is irregular and slightly off-centre, typical of hand-struck Apulian coinage of this period. |
