Obverse description Forepart of the winged horse Pegasus advancing to left, rendered in archaic style with characteristic feathered wings folded along the body. The musculature of the chest and neck is summarily indicated, with the head turned slightly downward. The type is struck on a small, irregularly shaped flan typical of fractional silver coinage of Karia in the fifth century BC. No legend or inscription appears in the field.
