| Obverse description | Forepart of a bear advancing to the left, rendered in a bold Archaic style characteristic of early Arkadian coinage. The animal's powerful musculature is suggested through the rounded, high-relief modeling of the form. The flan is irregular and lenticular, typical of hammered Peloponnesian silver of the early fifth century BC. No inscription or border ornament is present on this face. |
