Obverse description Right-facing laureate bust of Severus II, depicted draped and cuirassed, viewed from the front, with the laurel wreath rendered in fine detail atop closely cropped hair. The cuirass and drapery are clearly articulated at the shoulder, lending the portrait a martial authority characteristic of the Tetrarchic period. The circumferential Latin legend reads IMP SEVERVS PIVS FELIX AVG, partially visible around the periphery of the flan. The coin exhibits heavy green patination consistent with prolonged burial, with the portrait retaining good relief despite surface encrustation. The style is consistent with the London mint's output during the reign of Severus II as Caesar and Augustus.
