| Obverse description | Laureate head of Severus II as Caesar facing right, with short cropped hair rendered in fine stippled detail and a close-cropped beard, portrayed in the tetrarchic style characteristic of the Diocletianic reform coinage. The portrait is rendered with a bold, almost schematic plasticity typical of late Roman provincial die-cutting. The circular Latin legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan, enclosed within a beaded border. |
