| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing bust of the usurper Johannes, depicted pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, rendered in the late Roman imperial style characteristic of the early fifth century. The effigy displays the emperor in military attire with a mantle over the shoulder, conveying both civil and military authority. The surrounding Latin legend reads D N IOHANNES P F AVG, identifying Johannes as Dominus Noster and Augustus. The flan is irregular, as typical of struck nummi of this period, and the die work reflects provincial workshop execution. Significant surface patination obscures much of the fine detail. |
