The exergue below carries the mint signature and officina letter identifying the Alexandria mint and its first workshop. The surrounding field is largely plain, with the reverse legend distributed around the periphery in degraded Latin capitals. The overall execution is characteristic of the small, roughly struck nummi produced at Alexandria during the reign of Honorius, with the cross rendered in bold, simple relief against a flat background. |
