| Description de l’avers | Right-facing draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Honorius, adorned with a pearl diadem, rendered in the characteristically schematic late Roman imperial style. The imperial effigy occupies the center of the flan, with the encircling Latin legend interrupted around the periphery. The portrait, though small in scale given the diminutive flan, conveys the standard attributes of imperial dignity through layered drapery and military cuirass. The flat, somewhat crude execution is typical of the debased nummus coinage of the Alexandrian mint in the early fifth century. |
