| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of Emperor Gratian, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed, rendered in the late Roman imperial style characteristic of the Theodosian period. The effigy occupies the central field, with the imperial legend disposed around the periphery, broken by a dash between GRATIA and NVS. The coin's surface exhibits heavy patination and wear, rendering fine details of the drapery and cuirass largely obscured, though the profile portrait remains identifiable. A beaded border frames the design. |

| Reverse description | Central field occupied by a votive inscription in two lines enclosed within a laurel wreath tied at the base, commemorating Gratian's fifteenth vow and wishing for his twentieth anniversary — a standard formula of imperial loyalty and dynastic celebration. The mintmark of the Rome mint, preceded by the officina letter, appears in the exergue below the wreath. The reverse, heavily corroded and patinated, renders both the wreath tying and the exergual mintmark difficult to read on this particular specimen. |
