In his extended right hand he holds a patera over a low altar, symbolising sacrifice and divine favour, while his left hand grasps a cornucopiae, emblematic of abundance. The Latin legend GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI is distributed across the reverse field, and the mintmark LON appears in the exergue, identifying the Londinium (London) mint. The composition is framed within a beaded border consistent with Tetrarchic follis coinage. |
