The GLORIA EXERCITVS ("Glory of the Army") type was introduced across all active mints simultaneously around 330 AD as a deliberate empire-wide statement following Constantine I's consolidation of sole rule. Nicomedia, then one of the eastern empire's administrative capitals, was a high-output mint during this period, operating multiple officinae concurrently.
