| Beschrijving keerzijde | A helmeted Roman soldier, draped and cuirassed, strides to the left, thrusting a spear downward with his right hand into a fallen enemy horseman who kneels or collapses beneath him; the soldier carries a large shield on his left arm, and a second shield is depicted on the ground to the right. The fallen horseman turns his head upward toward the soldier and extends his left arm in a gesture of submission or supplication. The reverse type belongs to the well-known FEL TEMP REPARATIO series of Constantius II, variant depicting the soldier spearing a fallen horseman. The mint mark and officina letter appear in the exergue. |
