| Reverse description | The reverse presents a scene of concordia between the Caesar and Jupiter: Constantius I, in military dress, stands facing right and receives a Victory statuette from Jupiter, who stands to the right holding a long sceptre, both figures rendered in the stocky, frontal Tetrarchic style. In the lower central exergual area the mint mark HΓ (or similar officina letter) is visible, indicating production at the Heraclea mint. The encircling Latin legend CONCORDIA MIL-ITVM, split by the central group, proclaims the harmony of the soldiers as a programmatic Tetrarchic slogan. The dotted border frames the composition around the full circumference of the coin. |
