Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantius Gallus as Caesar facing right, depicted in the youthful style typical of junior imperial portraiture. The effigy shows close-cropped hair rendered in shallow relief, with a visible paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the upper edge of a cuirass below. The encircling Latin legend reads D N CONSTANTIVS IVN NOB C, identifying the prince as Dominus Noster Constantius Iunior Nobilissimus Caesar. The portrait exhibits the flat, stylized treatment characteristic of mid-fourth-century Roman provincial die-cutting.
