| Descrizione del rovescio | A Romano-military camp gate (porta praetoria) depicted in three-quarter perspective, rendered with two flanking towers, a central arched gateway, and detailed ashlar masonry coursing across the façade. Atop each tower stands a figure, and a star appears in the upper field between the towers, serving as a celestial symbol of imperial divine favour. The circumferential legend PROVIDENTIAE CAESS encircles the central type, while the exergue bears the mint mark SMKX (Sacra Moneta Cyzici, officina variant), identifying the Cyzicus mint. The camp gate type was a hallmark reverse design of Constantinian-era nummi, symbolising the providential protection of the imperial frontier. |
