Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed bust of Constantine I facing right, depicted with characteristic military dress including layered pteryges visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the robust, high-relief style typical of the Treveri mint during the Tetrarchic period. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Latin capital letters within the beaded border of the coin's field.

Obverse lettering IMP CONSTANTINVS PF AVG
(Translation: Emperor Constantinus, Pious and Happy Augustus)
Reverse description Mars advancing briskly to the right, depicted helmeted and essentially nude save for a military cloak (chlamys) draped over his shoulders and billowing dramatically behind him. The god holds a transverse spear in his right hand and bears a large round shield on his left arm. Field letters appear to either side of the figure, and the mintmark is struck in the exergue below a ground line, identifying the Treveri mint and its first officina.
