The encircling obverse legend reads IMP CONSTANTINVS P F AVG, identifying the emperor with his titles. A star surmounted by a letter appears in the upper left field, with a corresponding control letter in the right field, both serving as workshop or issue identifiers. The exergue carries the officina letter and mintmark T/*F, denoting the mint of Arelate.
