The effigy displays a combined laurel wreath and jewelled diadem, a distinctive feature of the Constantinian dynastic coinage of the mid-fourth century. The obverse legend encircles the bust within a beaded border. The portrait exhibits the characteristic late antique stylization, with a relatively schematic rendering of the facial features and military dress.
