| Reverse description | Elaborate allegorical mining scene in high relief depicting the interior of a mine shaft in cross-section. At the center, a tall ladder-equipped shaft rises toward a radiant sun at the top, with figures ascending and descending; an official is shown seated in a chair being lowered. At the bottom, Prince Wilhelm Ludwig and his courtly entourage stand assembled at the shaft entrance. To the left, a gallery shows miners at work with tools; to the right, a second gallery depicts a noblewoman and her entourage observing mining operations, with miners using lanterns and equipment. The date 1694 appears in the exergue, and the Latin motto is inscribed along the upper rim. |
