Above, a spread eagle with outstretched wings surmounts a radiating sunburst and an imperial crown, while a Legion of Honour cross pendant hangs at the junction of the two frames. The field is flanked by elaborate floral and foliate sprays including roses, oak leaves, and thistles, with the legend and maker's name inscribed below. |
