Obverse description The central field features a sculptural bust of Dionisio de Herrera in high relief, set on a pedestal and framed by two laurel branches tied at the top. Flanking the bust in the inner field are his birth details (CHOLUTECA 09 OCT. 1781) to the left and death details (SAN VICENTE 18 JUNIO 1850) to the right, accompanied by his facsimile signature below; the fineness and weight notation appear at lower right. The outer legend reads PRIMER JEFE SUPREMO DEL ESTADO DE HONDURAS at the top and the quote 'He Sacrificado Todo a La Patria' at the bottom, both separated by five-pointed stars.
