The lion holds a crowned oval shield bearing the arms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Dania reaches forward to receive the child while the Genius simultaneously touches her with a radiant scepter. In the lower field a broken Hermes lies beneath the group. The engraver's initials M.G.A. appear on the ground line.
