The legend 'MARINHA PORTUGUESA' arcs along the upper rim, 'DIRECÇÃO DE FARÓIS' along the lower rim, with 'FAROL DE AVEIRO' inscribed in the exergue area; the engraver's signatures 'Mª de Lourdes' and 'CUNHARTE-Adolfo' appear at lower left and lower right respectively. |

A stylised nautical compass rose enclosed within a circle dominates the lower left, connected by lines to coastal points.
