The surrounding border is decorated with an ornate scrollwork pattern, with the convention legend arranged around the periphery and the dates in the lower field. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a richly detailed composition of New Orleans landmarks and symbols in relief, including a Mardi Gras float at upper left, a colonnaded building resembling the Cabildo at upper right, a central fort motif, a modern skyscraper at left, a jazz horn at right, and a Mississippi River steamboat at lower right. A large fleur-de-lis surmounts the composition at the top, and a ribbon-like river motif flows through the center of the field. The legend appears along the lower rim. |
