It shows the coat of arms of the Navy`s IT Service, supported by an anchor: St. Andrew`s Cross with various symbols: A broken chain, which may symbolise freedom or a break with old paradigms. Computing symbols such as the infinity symbol (probably alluding to the continuous cycle of data or logic), ladder diagrams, and bits or planets in the upper right diagonal. The inscription ‘Sic et Non’ (Latin for ‘Yes and No’), a classic allusion to binary logic, but also to the title of the work by Peter Abelard — medieval philosopher — integrating rationalist symbolism.
