背面描述 Central field divided by a horizontal line, with the upper portion carrying a single line of Arabic legend and the lower portion displaying the main inscription in three lines identifying the issuing sultan and mint. The reverse legend reads: 'al-Sultan / Ismail ibn al-Sharif / Duriba bi-Meknes / Sanat [date]', denoting the regnal title, the sultan's name and lineage, the mint city of Meknes (Miknas), and the Hijri year of issue. The script is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hand typical of Moroccan hammered silver coinage of the early eighteenth century.

附加信息

Moulay Ismail ibn Sharif ruled Morocco for 55 years — one of the longest reigns in Moroccan history — and his monetary output reflects both the ambition and the administrative chaos of his court. The Meknes mint, operating under his direct patronage as he rebuilt the city into an imperial capital using an estimated 25,000 Christian captives as labor, produced small silver pieces like this mazuna in considerable volume but with notorious inconsistency in weight and strike quality, a known characteristic of the type rather than a grading consideration.

KM#B28.5 distinguishes this Meknes issue from the several parallel mint attributions active during the same reign.
