Obverse description Obverse field occupied entirely by the Arabic-script legend in multiple lines across the flan, reading the ruler's name and patronymic. The inscription, struck on an irregular copper flan by hand-hammering, displays characteristic Ottoman thuluth-style calligraphy. The legend reads 'Mehmed bin Murad Han' (Mehmed son of Murad Khan), identifying the sultan. Strike is slightly off-center, with the legend partially visible at the edges due to the irregular planchet shape.
